How To Win A Guy In 10 Ways

updated on January 7, 2021March 13, 20194 Comments on How To Win A Guy In 10 Ways

In celebration of International Women’s Day last March 8, I’ve put together a list on how to win a man’s heart because, as society dictates, getting a man is the ultimate goal in life of every woman. Number 1: Do not introduce yourself. Instead, invade his work area the first time you meet and tinker with his things, especially if he were OC.

  • YOUR WEEKEND REMINDER FROM @crossingcafephl

No matter what your journey is,
No matter where you are right now,
No matter how you feel,
No matter who you are at the moment,
No matter WHY things are the way they are,

Trust that there is NOWHERE TO GO BUT UP.

Happy weekend, everyone!

Musings from a former non-coffee drinker. 😂

  • FOOD AND MOTHERHOOD

We’ve had our fair share of Mother’s Day (and Father’s Day) dine out horror stories, so to avoid crowds, awful customer service, and long queues and waiting time, my side of the family decided to postpone our Mother’s Day celebration to a weeknight.

But we did pass by my parents’ on our way home on Mother’s Day to hand over to mama her Lulu’s Sweet Shoppe by @constanceselga cupcake bouquet. She loved it!

Apart from gifting cupcake bouquets, I also ordered a few packs of @biancy_lustiva @biancx_1012’s G-Pops as Mother’s Day tokens to all the moms in both sides of our families. It was indeed a food-filled week for the whole family.

Speaking of full, our tummies got so full from @sambokojin buffet fare for our Basilio-Valle Mother’s Day celebration. Mama requested for buffet because we’ve never eaten at one ever since the pandemic happened. Mama, papa, and the tyanaks haven’t lost their flare—they could still finish at least five rounds of food. Wow!

After dinner, our energy (especially the tyanaks’) was still high so we hung out at the kiddie attraction at the mall parking lot where Tyanaks Biancy, @yattater , @end1ngf4iry , and #BigBoyJesse enjoyed the maze, playground, and go kart (not Jesse because he’s still too short for the ride so we just took his photo in one of the cars while pretending to drive). If the rides didn’t close, we wouldn’t have gone home just yet.

And this concludes my Mother’s Day posts. Watch out for Father’s Day next month! Hahahahaha! 😂

  • MOTHERS BANDING AND BONDING TOGETHER

Mother’s Day 2022 has got to be one of the most, if not the most, special Mother’s Day celebrations we’ve had because the @architecthusband, #BigBoyJesse, and I got to fully spend time with both sides of the family.

Days before Mother’s Day, JS’ older sister Ate @docjowi, Kuya @rocamoraowens, and their two kids Yuan and Bien, surprised the family with their arrival from Qatar. The day before Mother’s Day, I served as their self-appointed tour guide at @evialifestylecenter where we got lost a few times going to the mall and while inside the mall because I have zero sense of direction. Ate Jona and Kuya Owens treated all of us to cotton candy (whose saleslady looked like she’s so bored with her job), Macao Imperial milk tea, and Japanese fare at Botejyu (the restaurant probably was surprised at how much we ordered!). We even didn’t pass up on the opportunity to take photos at the Mother’s Day bench—may kasama kaming turista eh (we’re with tourists)! Hahahaha!

Come Mother’s Day, all the moms in the Selga clan received real-looking cupcake bouquets baked and designed by JS’ niece @constanceselga, all the way from Bulacan. Because JS was so extra, he had my bouquet custom-made: ALL SUNFLOWERS. Taray! Alam mo ba how much ang gold flakes?! (How demanding! Do you even know how much gold flakes cost?!) How smart! Cupcake bouquets are much cheaper than real flower bouquets. Hehe…

As for the food, @collieselga and @jeroselga made their signature burgers (mine was shrimp, of course!) for everyone with unlimited serving. Lots of talk on politics also happened because it was the day before the Philippine National Elections.

Overall, it was a memorable celebration of mothers which we hope we could repeat sooner rather than later with everyone in complete attendance (calling Ate @jozinnicueto family from the US!). 🥰

  • PICS OR IT DIDN’T HAPPEN

It’s Father’s Day tomorrow but then I realized I didn’t get to post anything about Mother’s Day last month. Well, motherhood is celebrated every day at home anyway. LOL.

From trips to the salon and mall to impromptu road and food trips, the @architecthusband , #BigBoyJesse, and I filled our cups in May in preparation for the busy months ahead.

Belated Happy Mother’s Day, everyone! Please forgive me for not sending out greetings, I only got to greet the moms I was with in person—still trying to figure out this hybrid life. Hehe…

PS: This morning, JS asked me what I prepared for him for Father’s Day, so I returned the question to him only for it to backfire—he reminded me about the sunflower cupcake bouquet, the Watawat earrings, and family celebrations, he gifted to me, to name a few. How come I couldn’t recall daw. Bwahahahaha!

  • FAMILY FIRST, ALWAYS

Last week, we found ourselves roaming around Eastwood at midnight with four kids in tow. Earlier that day, I took my three tyanaks (I’ve been calling my beautiful nieces by this term since they were babies. Hahahaha!), together with #BigBoyJesse to our @joyful_oilers Essential Oils 101 class at @cupofjoyph and just as we were about to drop @biancy_lustiva @biancx_1012 , @beid0usgf ,@end1ngf4iry off at their home, they kept on chanting: “don’t wanna go home, don’t wanna go home, don’t wanna go home,” so the @architecthusband and I decided to tag them along with us to our errands.

And how fun it was!

We forgot that it was their first time to be on a road trip ever since the pandemic happened so they were amazed at everything they saw—mostly things we’d normally take for granted like the street lights, highways, etc.

We couldn’t just take them anywhere because, as JS observed: “porma nila pang gimik ah” (they look like they’re going somewhere fancy with their fashion choices). HAHAHAHAHA! When I was their age, I was usually only in jean jumper, Cookie Monster t-shirt, and sneakers.

Oh, kids these days!

We capped the night off at @frankieswings Eastwood because it was the only family-friendly place open at that ungodly hour in Pasig.

Wait until I get to drive really well, tyanaks! This will not be our last road trip. Just make sure you guys are insured. Wahahahaha! I kid. OK, half kidding. 😂

PS: What’s with the looking far away pose? Hehe…

  • YESTERDAY WAS THE FIRST TIME WE SAW #BIGBOYJESSE’s HEART GET BROKEN

We waited for five years to get another bulldog. For some families, it’s not a challenge raising human children and puppies together but the #architecthusband and I know ourselves and our capacity too well.

Jesse’s a handful, so raising a bulldog (who is very much like a human, too, haha!) alongside raising our son will be extra challenging.

Since Jesse recently turned five, JS surprised us with the news that we’re finally ready to get another bulldog.

But one that will “never grow taller than me” as what Jesse requested. The usual English bulldog was out of the question.

So, French bulldog it was!

Also, it had to be under my own terms: no leash and no cage, just a dog who will freely roam around the house and will be brought wherever we’d go.

But there’s a caveat: JS can get a cat.

I AM NOT A CAT PERSON.

But this was a compromise I was willing to take as Jesse had been requesting for a pet, in this case, pets, for so long.

The day finally arrived when we’d fetch our new family members: Nabnabs the Persian x Himalayan cat (we originally named her Magda but Jesse started calling her “Nabnabs,” yet JS insists on the name “Gaga” short for Lady Gaga. Hahahaha!) and Bruno the Frenchie.

It was love at first sight (and sniff and hug and so much more)! Our new babies started bonding and didn’t fight at all—save for a few wrestles here and there.

Jesse was at his happiest, he even willingly woke up early so he could feed Nabnabs and Bruno. He also NEVER asked for a gadget—he was too preoccupied looking after his new pets.

I even told him he should be a good brother to his new babies and he corrected me: “they’re not babies, mama, they are animals.”

Wow! Spoken like a true Alpha just like his father. I knew he’d lead his pack well. 🥰

We immediately took Nabnabs and Bruno to our trusted vet Doc Bong of Happy Hayop for a check-up and that’s when we were greeted by the hard truth…

… There is no redeeming statement here. There are times we simply need to honor our feelings and give ourselves enough space and time to express our sadness before moving on.
