How To Win A Guy In 10 Ways

updated on January 7, 2021March 13, 20194 Comments on How To Win A Guy In 10 Ways

In celebration of International Women’s Day last March 8, I’ve put together a list on how to win a man’s heart because, as society dictates, getting a man is the ultimate goal in life of every woman. Number 1: Do not introduce yourself. Instead, invade his work area the first time you meet and tinker with his things, especially if he were OC.

  • FAMILY FIRST, ALWAYS

Last week, we found ourselves roaming around Eastwood at midnight with four kids in tow. Earlier that day, I took my three tyanaks (I’ve been calling my beautiful nieces by this term since they were babies. Hahahaha!), together with #BigBoyJesse to our @joyful_oilers Essential Oils 101 class at @cupofjoyph and just as we were about to drop @biancy_lustiva @biancx_1012 , @beid0usgf ,@end1ngf4iry off at their home, they kept on chanting: “don’t wanna go home, don’t wanna go home, don’t wanna go home,” so the @architecthusband and I decided to tag them along with us to our errands.

And how fun it was!

We forgot that it was their first time to be on a road trip ever since the pandemic happened so they were amazed at everything they saw—mostly things we’d normally take for granted like the street lights, highways, etc.

We couldn’t just take them anywhere because, as JS observed: “porma nila pang gimik ah” (they look like they’re going somewhere fancy with their fashion choices). HAHAHAHAHA! When I was their age, I was usually only in jean jumper, Cookie Monster t-shirt, and sneakers.

Oh, kids these days!

We capped the night off at @frankieswings Eastwood because it was the only family-friendly place open at that ungodly hour in Pasig.

Wait until I get to drive really well, tyanaks! This will not be our last road trip. Just make sure you guys are insured. Wahahahaha! I kid. OK, half kidding. 😂

PS: What’s with the looking far away pose? Hehe…

  • YESTERDAY WAS THE FIRST TIME WE SAW #BIGBOYJESSE’s HEART GET BROKEN

We waited for five years to get another bulldog. For some families, it’s not a challenge raising human children and puppies together but the #architecthusband and I know ourselves and our capacity too well.

Jesse’s a handful, so raising a bulldog (who is very much like a human, too, haha!) alongside raising our son will be extra challenging.

Since Jesse recently turned five, JS surprised us with the news that we’re finally ready to get another bulldog.

But one that will “never grow taller than me” as what Jesse requested. The usual English bulldog was out of the question.

So, French bulldog it was!

Also, it had to be under my own terms: no leash and no cage, just a dog who will freely roam around the house and will be brought wherever we’d go.

But there’s a caveat: JS can get a cat.

I AM NOT A CAT PERSON.

But this was a compromise I was willing to take as Jesse had been requesting for a pet, in this case, pets, for so long.

The day finally arrived when we’d fetch our new family members: Nabnabs the Persian x Himalayan cat (we originally named her Magda but Jesse started calling her “Nabnabs,” yet JS insists on the name “Gaga” short for Lady Gaga. Hahahaha!) and Bruno the Frenchie.

It was love at first sight (and sniff and hug and so much more)! Our new babies started bonding and didn’t fight at all—save for a few wrestles here and there.

Jesse was at his happiest, he even willingly woke up early so he could feed Nabnabs and Bruno. He also NEVER asked for a gadget—he was too preoccupied looking after his new pets.

I even told him he should be a good brother to his new babies and he corrected me: “they’re not babies, mama, they are animals.”

Wow! Spoken like a true Alpha just like his father. I knew he’d lead his pack well. 🥰

We immediately took Nabnabs and Bruno to our trusted vet Doc Bong of Happy Hayop for a check-up and that’s when we were greeted by the hard truth…

… There is no redeeming statement here. There are times we simply need to honor our feelings and give ourselves enough space and time to express our sadness before moving on.
  • GOING OIL OUT PAYS OFF

When @younglivingphilippines announced Go Oil Out Experience, their 30-day member experience program, I immediately reached out to my @bni.global Fortune family to ask for help—I really wanted to be one of the 20 pairs that would qualify for the program.

Only an hour later, my childhood friend and business partner @vonsj of Flipbox Events Management sent me a screenshot of his order confirmation. Whoah! I couldn’t believe it! All I did was ASK FOR HELP and a blessing arrived without me begging for it.

Von getting the new Premium Experience Set meant that he trusted me to guide him in his wellness journey. Aaawww. Thanks so much! The program was just icing on the cake.

And what delicious and generous icing it was!

Last Wednesday was our first day where we opened our wellness box and got to know each of the oils—the learning and fun were unlike any other! Our valedictorians Conduct Manager Dewie, Sales Trainer Meds, and Marketing Manager Melody worked the crowd and we left Day One longing for more.

Can’t wait for tomorrow’s Acupressure class with Dr. Candy Drilon-Dalman!

  • HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

The year 2021 was the year of focusing on what is truly important—FAMILY.

Plans were postponed.
Dreams were reassessed.
Goals were realigned.

This 2022 is the year we truly enjoy the fruits of our labor—still with our family.

We get to turn our plans into reality.
We choose which dreams we truly value.
We live in alignment with our goals.

May this year and beyond bring you happiness, wellness, and purpose.

Always and in all ways, may we remain our faith in God’s guidance.

Have a blessed New Year, everyone!

No resolutions for this family (the @architecthusband, #BigBoyJesse, and I never really create resolutions. LOL.) because every day is an opportunity to do and be better.

  • SO, LAST MONTH WE DID SOMETHING

We launched the newest BNI chapter in the Manila South region of @bni.global Philippines within three months (which typically takes a year to accomplish)—BNI Fortune!

Congratulations to all of us, Manila South Regional Director @gabthemac , Manila South Support and Growth Directors Arch. @theanniezabala and Arch. @dllandicho , Support and Growth Ambassador Jenny Wang, Launch Ambassadors Aldric de Leon, Marie Macadangdang, and @krizara.photography , and BNI Fortune Leadership Team Vice President Irene Garcia, Secretary/Treasurer @franco_madrid , Growth Coordinator @jcspeechcoach , Lead Visitor Host @raaalphreyes , Communications Coordinator Camille Tan, Network Education Coordinator @ivanncarandang , Mentor Coordinator @_pmjgarcia , Events Coordinator @noimnotjustnic604 , Membership Committee Chairs @rgcabangbang , Michael Fajardo, @xxxnadinexxx , and Lila Marquez, Deputy Secretary/Treasurer @riegorushel , Deputy Growth Coordinator @la_ulep , Visitor Hosts Atty. Ceto Ammogao, @powcham , @freddellosa , Bunny Marfil, and Arch. Rex Santos, @raf_taberna , Deputy Communications Coordinator Mark Carandang, Deputy Network Education Coordinator @cyrilsorongon , Deputy Mentor Coordinator @vonreyes_king , Deputy Events Coordinator @vonsj , and One to One Coordinator Nino Malaya!

When our chapter was starting to grow, someone coined the word “FAMILY” and I realized that we were really starting to feel like a family. We have our “batang ama” (haha!) RD Gab, Uncle Mike who drops the best jokes, and we even refer to each other as “brothers” and “sisters.” Holding one-to-ones never feels like a chore, rather, it’s something we look forward to doing apart from attending our weekly chapter meetings.

In BNI Fortune, we operate like a well-oiled machine. We chartered our chapter in quite a short time. We’ve organized and facilitated our own information sessions. Heck, we even pulled off our own launch day by ourselves. I believe we are keen to growing our chapter into a full fledged agency with a complete roster of products and services that provides solutions to our clients’ diverse needs.

  • GRATEFUL NO MATTER WHAT

This pandemic has taken the lives and livelihood of many so it’s quite common to wonder how do we stay positive during these times? We believe (and it is taught to us in #IglesiaNiCristo) that true happiness does not depend on current circumstances—it stems from having strong faith in God and living our life’s purpose.

The year 2021 is not for the faint of heart. A lot of hardships were endured, too many heartaches encountered, and much losses were incurred, among many others.

We could either focus on sadness, disappointment, and fear, or channel our energies to experiencing bliss, creating opportunities, and being courageous.

We can't always choose to avoid experiencing problems, but we can choose how we view problems and how we deal with them. We don’t thank God only for the good that happens to us. We are grateful for both the good and the bad. Because having faith means finding and living our purpose through life’s toughest moments.

And the best way to overcome fear is to have purpose. May we all live our purpose and may we be grateful no matter what. Happy Thanksgiving to my fellow brethren and happy holidays to everyone!

PS: The #architecthusband and I have enjoyed a bit of couple time the past few days (huge thanks to our families for looking after #BigBoyJesse) and we couldn’t be more grateful. 🥰
